Call your bookies
Such a huge weekend of boxing ahead, fight fans, you’re probably sitting there just struggling to get your mind around it all. But don’t fret. That’s what we’re here for, to break it all down for you. No Masians, Large is laying his cards on the table, going for the pugilistic difecta. So without further ado, I say drummer count it off…
SHANNON “THE CANNON BRIGGS v. SERGEI “THE WHITE WOLF” LIAKHOVICH
Yo, you see the cannons The Cannon is wearing for arms these days? Look at them shits. He’s outweighing Brother Sergei by about 30 pounds. Other than the best nickname in boxing and a meaningless belt he won from Lamon “C’mere dummy!” Brewster, I can’t see what Liakhovich has going for him in this bout. Two words for you – Maurice Harris. If you don’t know who he is, consider yourself lucky – he’s a journeyman punching bag who’s served as a B-list punching bag for years. He was served up to Liakhovich as wolfmeat in 2002 and holms turned around and knocked The White Wolf on his white ass. I know a lot can change in four years, but still, compared to a pretender like Sergei, Briggs might as well be Lennox. I predict that this one will end early.
LARGE SAYS – The Wolf is a puppy.. Briggs in a 5th round KO
PRETTY BOY FLOYD MAYWEATHER v. CARLOS “TATA” BALDOMIR
You know my feelings on this one, but I’ll give them to you again just in case you haven’t placed your wager yet. All the hype is just hype – no Roger Mayweather, Baldomir is the modern Cinderella man… whaddev. I dig the whole Baldomir the Feather Duster Salesman shit as much as the next man, but look, Floyd is the most focused, most talented, most highly trained fighter in the sport. AND he's got a stratospherical payday lying in the balance with De La Hoya. You think he's going to lose this fight? C'mon. Yeah, Carlos beat Zab under similar circumstances, but there's a world of difference between Floyd and Zab. Baldomir’s preternaturally hard skull will keep him from getting knocked out, although a late round TKO is possible, ninth or tenth would be my guess. But if I had to predict the exact result, I’d say unanimous decision for Floyd with Tata possibly not winning a round on anyone’s card. Floyd will take like two good punches the whole night. Coincidentally, they will be the only punches that Lampley manages to call.
LARGE SAYS – Floyd in a unanimous decision… bring on the veal Oscar!
There you have it my people. Take that shit to the bank. Anybody wants to tip me, send an email. I'll give you my Paypal info.
