The Year Gets Late Early Around Here
I know what you're thinking - year-end boxing awards? But, but... what if Hatton beats Floyd? Wouldn't that be upset of the year? And what if... what if Mayorga and Vargas both knock each other out simultaneously? Wouldn't that qualify as... something of the year?Yes, it's all true. It's a little early for the year-end boxing awards, but hey, Franchise over at Jarry Park wanted to trump the competition, so I dutifully complied with an interview. Think I did a damn good job too, if I do say so myself, and I've got a few surprises up my sleeve, so ch-ch-ch-check it out.

Its never to early to give out awards.
As Jarry Park establishes itself as the leader in all things Combat Sports we have decided to make the new combat calender end in November. Belie dat.
Well, early or not, nice podcast and good choices!
Two things: Upset of the year has to be Casamajors loss to Santa Cruz. I mean, the Ring-champion losing his build-up-fight against a stable-mate before a big money-fight against a Baby-Bull, who would have thought that... oh wait, he didn't ... well nevermind.
Second: I just recently watched Klitschko vs. Sam Peter on youtube and your memory tricked you Large. Mr. Kronk was definitly in Wlads Corner for that fight (or they have some really similar looking guy training in Germany) and if I remember right, Peter was never on the floor while Klitschko kiss the canvas three times.
Right you are Trickster - I actually think that might have been Manny's first fight with Wlad. I am surprised though that Peter never got knocked down. He certainly took a clobbering. It was a hell of a fight. I'd like to see the rematch.
Casamayor... yeah. Does Baby Bull actually HAVE to fight him now? I really really don't need to see that fight.
If Casamayor and Diaz fight, at least we would find out, if it is possible to hold and grab a baby-bull.
My hope is though, that the forced rematch between Santa Cruz and Casamayor gets some judges who are NOT blind or poor. Then we will only have the problem of an unexpected ring-champ not the problem of an undeserving.
Concerning Klitschko-Peter II: Yeah I'm absolutly looking forward to that. Peter right now seems the only HW who brings to the table what can stop Wlad, knockout power. So if he defeats Maskaev this could be a highlight in the summer and finally the year the HWs get the divion of the year award.
you guys won't be alone. the boxing writers association of america holds their annual meeting and voting for annual awards this year on dec 7th. the day before the big fight.
