The beginning of the end... man that vicious uppercut was probably enough to get the knockdown but Buster connected on 4 more shots as Tyson was falling down. That sealed it.

I was 6 when this took place, but I actually remember watching the All-Star Dunk competition in my basement when the news broke during a commercial break. My Dad's reaction was one word: 'How?'

Where were you guys when you heard the news?

I was watching that shit. I was in college. It was definitely about the most unreal thing you could imagine. I was with a bunch of dudes and we kept wondering if this was some kind of grand joke or something. At the time you just couldn't really get your mind around the fact that Tyson could lose. I think if Tyson had been fighting Buster Douglas and like two other dudes I still would have thought he was going to win.

I hear you, Large. The reason why this event stuck out in my mind was because at 6 years old, I'd never seen my Dad so shocked at anything. He was just staring into space, deadpan asking nobody in particular: 'How?' I had to ask him: 'Daddy, are you OK?'

But I understand how unbeatable Tyson was in 1990. As 'Little Mac' I could get all the way to Super Macho Man without even getting knocked down. Having to fight Tyson afterwards was just unfair. To this day I still can't beat that game.

I was at Wally's bar mitzvah, a couple months before my own. The twins somehow caught wind of Tyson's falling to an unknown Buster. The news spread like cream cheese. It occurred to me for the first time to question my oncoming manhood's assumed unassailabilty.
