Birthday Wednesday
An eclectic group of birthday celebrants today, including a Baseball Hall-of-Famer, two Hockey Hall-of-Famers, a Football Hall-of-Famer and two football legends, one in Dallas and one in Ghana, a wrestling pioneer and a pioneering explorer, an Olympic gold-medalist, a Nobel Prize-winner, and if not the greatest, certainly the coolest tennis player ever to slide into a microscopic pair of Fila shorts.

Anthony Yeboah, the original monster from Kumasi
Important question. I'm heading out to Vegas, where's the best place to watch Zab?
I didn't realize today was The Baumer's birthday.
Happy Birthday Bjorn Tenenbaum
As if there was any doubt that I fucks with No Mas- you shout out my countryman Tony Yeboah out on his B-day. Big up, Large.
You from Ghana, Chief? Word up. It's a very international scene here at No Mas.
Ghana via Canada. But yeah, No Mas gets madd love worldwide.
Man, chief, you from ghana?
cool. My dude, I watched the lost final of the 92 african cup of nations in Senegal where Abedi pelé was suspended and you guys lost to the penalties against the Ivory Coast and I got Nii Lamptey's jersey signed by half the team. I rooted for frankfurt for so long
madsear, i feel you on the frankfurt love. one of the coolest experiences of my life was being in downtown frankfurt two summers ago on the day they won promotion to the bundesliga. the whole square was packed with people watching the game, and when it was over and they won, all the cars on the roads started honking and people screaming and hanging out of them waving scarves, and everyone in the square sang all the club songs. my friends and i yelled till we were horse even though we didn't know an german. it was the total stereotypical soccer fan freak out celebration.
Mad,
that's crazy that you got your jersey signed. I actually have an Abedi Pele jersey from back in the day and I still rock it from time to time. I first really started getting into the squad when I was visiting Ghana for the summer of 93 and the U-17 Squad was tearing it up. They had the entire world on smash in that age group. But it made it even more disappointing come '98 and 2002 when we couldn't qualify for the big tourney. Nigeria had Ghana's number.
I'm actually going to school in England come September, and if my studies allow, I'm gonna try and make it down to Ghana for cup of Nations in '08.
It starts january 15th usually til february 15th.
