Lot of muscle in today's born-today's, starting with that bohemoth world-champion woodcutter above, and moving on to a Sting who does not play bass, the Knicks' greatest fan and (sadly) their best player, Pete Sampras's coach, the second best hockey player who ever lived, the biggest blowhard in sports media, one half of the flashiest brother-quarterback combo in history, the one man holy trinity of player/coach/hairdo, the athlete who morphed into a jam band, the shoe-changing-est S.O.B. who ever set foot in the hood, and two fine ho's of the highest order, one who slayed the leading statesmen of her era, and one who slayed our teenage hearts in SI.

Brother Steve... I feel you... but at this point the question "who's the greatest hockey player of all time?" is kind of on the order of "who's the greatest Ugandan dictator of all time?" You got Idi Amin, and then you got a bunch of other dudes.

seriously though, i thought that no mas would come down on #4's side for the simple fact that while gretzky was a great scorer, he always had others do his fighting for him. orr, on the other hand, was as good with his fists as he was with his stick. now thats a complete hockey player.
When I was 20 I was working the door of a restaurant (and was quite scrawny) David Foster walked in, looked at me and bellowed "50 BUCKS FOR AN ARM WRESTLE SON!!" so that everyone in the restaurant could hear. Needless to say there was no shortage of laughter. Anyway turns out we had quite a chat and he is a really great/funny guy. He ended up inviting pretty much everyone in the restaurant to pop in for dinner if they're ever in North west Tasmania..

And Steve, yes His Orr-ness was a more complete player, and certainly more of my ilk of player on the whole (hell, I think the greatest hockey player of all time was Don Saleski), but to simply call Gretzky a great scorer is, well, (I'll stick to this one) to call Idi Amin a bad man. Mothafucka has more assists than anyone else has points. That is some shit. He definitely made everyone on the ice better in a way that no one ever has or probably will.
Here I thought people were going to get up my ass for rating Orr number two. I thought I'd be fielding some Gordie Howe or Super Mario type shit.
