Official Gleason's Gym Tee
No Mas is proud to be the only online-seller of the official Gleason's Gym t-shirt and sweatshirt. This tee is on an athletic body, that's thicker and roomier than other No Mas shirts. The red "Gleason's" lettering and dangling gloves on the front are printed with puff ink, bringing a three dimensional look and feel to the gym's iconic logo. On the back is the gym's motto, borrowed from a famous passage of Virgil's Aenied: "Now whoever has courage and a strong and collected spirit in his breast, let him come forward, lace on the gloves and put up his hands."

The Gleason's Gym Story
There aren’t many places left in the sport of boxing that boast so rich a past as Gleason’s Gym. Ali trained there for the first Liston fight, champions like LaMotta, Basilio, and Duran called it home, while trainers like Whitey Bimstein and Ray Arcel plied their toilsome trade beside them.

Opened in the Bronx in 1937 by ex-fighter Bobby Gleason (née Peter Gagliardi), the gym today is the last remaining link to the golden era of the sweet science in New York City, the era of Mike Jacobs, Stillman’s, and the majesty of the old Garden.

Current owner and president Bruce SIlverglade bought the gym in 1983, and moved it to its present location on Front Street in Brooklyn, where it has continued mightily in its tradition of "making boxing champions".

From Sugar Ray to Sugar Shane, from Carlos Ortiz to Carlos Monzon, the list of fighters who have honed their skills inside Gleason’s Gym reads like a veritable history of the sport itself. For more on the gym's past and present see the Gleason's Gym site.
