Like school in the summertime

Oh my people, oh my people… I first want to give a real shoutout to all of you out there who have stayed with us throughout our time of troubles here. Seems like we finally got our last lingering bug out of the system yesterday as the august I-Berg figured out our comments problem. So you are now free to let fly with your comments as in the grand old days of Mas, and in the prophetic words of Cube – “everything is all right… I got a beep from Kim, and she could do it all night…”
I’ll have a big boxing preview piece coming either today or tomorrow, but to tide you over for that, let me direct you over to this minor firestorm I started over at The Sporting Blog with a piece about the Celtics. Here’s a taste:
“Am I the only person in the world who thinks that the way the Celtics ran up the score in the final minutes last night was about as classless and low as it gets? They couldn’t, and shouldn’t, have stopped playing, and yes, the Lakers had thrown in the towel. That said, in whatever situation you do it and at whatever level, firing up threes and lofting alley-oops when you’re up 30 is bush league. Well-coached high-school kids know better…”

good call on Pierce Large, that shit makes me sick. Also the gatorade bath came while the game was still on didn’t it?? you would think that you would have to be ejected at the very least for such behaviour?

Trickster, I think my SN folks over there are actually pretty happy with it – got a lot of responses obviously and most of those cats are serious Boston-haters.
And yeah, ML, in general the idea that Pierce has suddenly elevated his rep to one of the all-time great Celtics is too low to even contemplate. Havlicek, Sam Jones, Paul Pierce. It just doesn’t do.

i think it was classless when they started celebrating with 7min to go in the 4th.
as for running up the score,
this is the nba, not sister rose mary’s cyo team.
run up the score, each player is paid millions.
i’m sure Paul Gasol is in his villa and Lamar in south beach counting their money and awaiting a new season and more riches.

God I hate the Celtics. I absolutely was crushed watching KG help these dudes morph into the basketball version of Ricardo Mayorga, minus the cussing.

Criticizing the Celtics as they win their 17th title? Spoken like a bitter Sixers fan, no?

Glad to see the Mas blog is back in full effect. We still here.
I don’t think that running up the score was classless. Its the pros-if you don’t wanna get beat by 40 than step up. The Gatorade bath was classless and odds are, it stained the parquet floor. And Garnett’s speech was so contrived, it made me cringe. I love how the Celtics were celebrating like a team that has been through a decade of hardships together, As if they weren’t just thrown together like a month before the season started.
